Policies & guidelines

Guidelines

  1. Only 1 person from each classification is permitted to join BNG.

  2. Members must represent their primary occupation, not a part-time business.

  3. Meetings are bi-weekly (every other week) and last for 60 mins.

  4. An individual member cannot be in any other group that allows only one person per profession to pass referrals to one another. However, an employee or representative of the same company may be a member of another group.

  5. Attendance: If a member cannot attend they may send a Substitute, that is not a member already, in their place. This will not count as an absence.

  6. Absences: A member is allowed 1 absence per rolling 90 day period. Any more than that, and the members classification may be opened and considered available.

  7. Members are required to bring bona fide referrals and/or guests/visitors to each meeting. A minimum number of referrals and/or guests/visitors is required, subject to change as directed by the leadership team. Generally, a minimum of 5 referrals or guests/visitors is required each rolling 90 day period to maintain your position with the group. If member fails to reach these numbers the members classification may be opened up and considered available to another individual.

  8. Guests/visitors may attend up to 2 meetings in a rolling 9 month period.

  9. A member may not take a leave of absence from the group or their position is up for grabs.

  10. Members who wish to change their classification must submit a new application for consideration.

  11. In case of problems with a member, the leadership team may, at its sole discretion, place a member on probation.

  12. A member’s classification may be opened for failure to comply with policies and/or performance issues.

  13. All membership lists are for the purpose of giving referrals and not for soliciting members without prior approval.

  14. 1-on-1: All members are expected to set up 1-on-1 meetings with each of the other members. This is to be able to develop a strong relationship with that person, and understand their business better in order to pass on referrals to them.

  15. All policies are subject to change by the Leadership Team. Members may not use the Idaho Falls BNG (Business Networking Group) Intellectual Property without prior written consent of the BNG Leadership Team or other officer(s).

  16. Application: All Members will submit an Application, that will be held by the Treasurer, and the Fee for the BNG will be deposited into the Group Bank account.

Administrative Policies

  1. Fees are paid annually and are $199.

  2. BNG reserves the right to open chapters in any city and more than one chapter in any given city or area.

  3. Membership fees are payable 30 days prior to the due date. Member not paying a fee by the 1st day of the month they are due will be assessed a late fee. If fees are not paid within 15 days the member will be officially dropped from the group.

  4. Fees are non-refundable.

  5. Fees cannot be transferred from one person to another unless the person is an employee of the same company.

  6. All returned checks will be assessed a minimum $25 return check fee.

  7. BNG reserves the right to discontinue any members participation in the group.

  8. If a member fails to bring a guest/visitor or a referral to 2 consecutive meetings, the member will be assessed a $5 fee.

  9. The leadership team will review quarterly the budget, fees, and assess if any changes need to be made.
